Against the crisis in Greece, the festival that has been loved by film enthusiasts and creators stays loyal to its aim: to become the international meeting point for modern Greek film from all around the world.
More than 60 selected films are being presented at Westbourne Studios (242 Acklam Road, London W10 5JJ), next to the artistic neighbourhood of Portobello. At the same time, 19 selected short and feature film scripts are online to watch.
The festival accepts films and scripts by modern Greek creators from all over the world, but also by foreign filmmakers whose work has a Greek theme. It is one of the most significant events promoting modern Greek culture in the British metropolis and in Europe, presenting a positive and creative face of Greece.
With parallel internet projects running all year long, the London Greek Film Festival creates the conditions for the promotion of modern Greek filmmakers, it provides networking and collaboration opportunities and it advances new technologies that combine the old good cinema with the new capabilities of contemporary developments.
On 18th of October, the festival will conclude with the “Odysseus Awards” evening ceremony, during which the best films in each category, as well as creators and artists will receive their prizes.
The full programme is available on the festival’s website, with descriptions of the films and the scripts – including photo material and trailers.
