The 6th London Greek Film Festival came to an end having showcased entries of high quality in all categories of film and script. True to its aim of being progressive and independent, the festival has developed to a meeting point for Greek film from all over the world. This year it featured 69 selected films of all genres: fiction feature films, short films, documentaries, experimental films, animation and video art. 68 of them were screened as part of the festival’s competition. 43 were a UK premiere and 14 a world premiere. There were also 19 selected competing scripts, of fiction feature and short films.
The Odysseus Awards are a tribute to the Odyssey the filmmakers go through in doing what they love. In some categories, due to the high quality of entries, the Awards were split among two or even three winners.
The awarded films of the festival will be presented at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation in Athens, from 4 to 8 December 2013.
