The 12th edition of Cinedays, the festival that celebrates the diversity of European cinema was held from 14-23 November in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. After the screening of more than 100 films from the European production, Cinedays presented on November 24th the winners of 2013!
The Golden Star for best film in the Official Competition of the 12th Cinedays Festival of European Film was awarded to the film In Bloom directed by Nana Ekvtimishvili, Simon Gross.
In the same selection, the Silver Star award for Best Director won the film Boy Eating the Bird΄s Food directed by Ektoras Lygizos. The jury stated that „the film it is a shot in a powerful minimalist style, bravely stripping the plot down almost to observational documentary. This bold directing choice by Ektoras Lygizos turns a contemporary social drama into an elemental and universal story”.

The Blue Star award for best screenplay was handed to the film Shell directed by Scott Graham. The film My Dog Killer directed by Mira Fornay received the Special Mention award.
In the CineBalkan selection, the GOLDEN SUN award for best film from the Balkan cinematographic region won the film Dual directed by Nejc Gazvoda, and the special mention award was given tot he film A Stranger directed by Bobo Jelcic.

This year, for the first time, Cinedays Film Festival introduced a new prize named Best Film Critic Award. The jury consisted of Maja Muhic, Vladimir Galevski and Vladimir Sazdovski decided to give the award to two persons – Zlatko Geleski for his writing of the film Hungry Man and Naum Trajanovski for his critic on the film The Whirlpool.
