The 64th Berlin International Film Festival Awards

The 64th Berlin International Film Festival came to its end on Sunday, Feburary 16th, with a spectacular closing ceremony, where this year΄s Berlinale winners received their awards.

The only Balkan participation in the International Competition, Stratos by Yannis Economides didn΄t make it to the Golden Bear, which was awarded to Black Coal, Thin Ice by Diao Yinan (People΄s Republic of China/Hong Kong/China).

However, Balkans didn΄t leave Berlin with empty hands! The Greek/German film At Home by Athanasios Karanikolas won the Ecumenical Jury Award in the Panorama 2014 section. In the same section, the Turkish/German The Lamb by Kutlug Ataman received the "Confédération Internationale des Cinémas d’Art et d’Essai" -CICAE- Prize. Finally the Slovak Republic/Czech Republic/Croatian co-production Velvet Terrorists by Pavol Pekarcík, Ivan Ostrochovsky and Peter Kerekes won the Tagesspiegel Reader΄s Jury Award
