On April the 14th, the Hellenic Film Academy ( HFA) will host its annual Awards Ceremony, honoring last year’s best Greek productions. Taking place at the Onassis Cultural Centre ( OCC), the event is being held for the 5th time, while a quick look at the nominations announced shows one or two clear favorites.
“20 feature, 12 documentaries and 24 short films is the number in total”, HFA’s President, Vasilis Katsoufis said before thanking the Greek filmmakers for keeping doing films on “these hard times”.
The Nova Honorary Award, given by the event’s big sponsor Nova to renowned Greek filmmakers of the diaspora, this year goes to Costas Gavras.

Last but not least, the Loukia Rikaki Award, given to the director of a short or feature documentary promoting social debate. Accompanying the award, the sum of 3,000 Euros.
