The “10 FOR FILM” program has sort of become a tradition at the Transylvania International Film Festival as it is the third year that ten talented Romanian stage actors are getting exposure through public meetings with media and film industry professionals during two days of the cinematic event.

Indeed, between 5 and 7 June in the Romanian Days section, these actors participated in workshops and film premieres in order to be presented to the audience, journalists and those who are directly interested in discovering new talent in cinema, i.e. directors, producers and Romanian foreign casting directors and agents.

In both editions so far, “10 FOR FILM” has already promoted twenty actors of different ages and from all over the country, who played at the theatre but have not yet had a chance to be on the big screen. Those selected will make their debut in cinema soon or have already had minor roles in local productions. As every year, special portfolios and videos were made of the actors in a professional studio.

Tudor Giurgiu

The ten actors were selected by a group of professionals in theatre and film: Tudor Giurgiu (director and producer), theatre critics Oltita Song, Cristina Rusiecki, Cristiana Stoica and Oana Gavrila, Andreea Iacob (playwright and theatre director) and Razvan Penescu (LiterNet portal editor).

Elena Ivanca

The selected actors are: Alina Ilea (National Theatre of Timisoara), Elena Ivanca (National Theatre of Cluj-Napoca), Eniko Györgyjakab (Hungarian Theatre of Cluj), Katalin Berekméri (National Theatre in Targu Mures, Tompa Miklos company), Lucia Mărneanu (independent actor, Cluj), Silvana Clark (Godot Cafe Theatre, a student at the University of Theatre and Film "IL Caragiale", Bucharest), Rares Andrei (Metropolis Theater and Very Small Theatre of Bucharest), Vlad Bîrzanu (Theatre "Anton Pann" in Rāmnicu Valcea), Sorin Dobrin (Bulandra Godot Cafe Theatre in Bucharest), Ioan Paraschiv (National Theatre "Radu Stanca" Sibiu and Youth Theatre in Piatra Neamt).

We hope to watch them soon and wish them all good luck in their upcoming careers in film!
