After 12 days of numerous Croatian, International films and documentaries, parallel programes and screenings of the festival’s old and classical films, the 61st Pula Film Festival wrapped for 2014 with the Golden Arena for International Film going to Pirjo Honkasalo’s Finnish film noir Concrete Night.
Number 55 by Kristijan Milic
Pula΄s big winner for this year was Cristijan Milic΄s Number 55, Best Croatian Film for 2014 with 8 awards in total and the jury saying its award went to “the film produced according to highest professional standards and the film that achieves an authentic and emotional presentation of a true event from the Croatian War of Independence.” Other films praised by the jury were Tudor Cristian Jurgiu’s The Japanese Dog and Rok Bicek’s Class Enemy.

The Breza Award for Best Debut to Danko Vucinovic for the cinematography of Zagreb Cappuccino by Vanja Svilicic
Golden Arena for Best Sound was not awarded this year.
