From
August 23 till the 29th of the same month, the 5th annual
Avvantura Festival Film Forum Zadar opens its doors in Zadar, Croatia. Funded by director
Sergej Stanojkovski, it’s the first international film festival being focused on European co-productions and its thematic feature enhances Croatian position on the European film scene. The festival invites not only the cinema audience during the film projections but also the professionals participating at the creative
Film Forum, this unique manifestation aiming at gathering and connecting film-creatives.
In Zadar, many Croatian and several regional premiers are to be experienced and apprised by the audience and the international jury in open air screenings at the city’s squares.
The festival cooperates with
EAVE, one of the leading training and development programmes for producers in Europe. It has also established a unique, global network of film professionals,
Eye on Films, which guarantees the circulation of a selection of first feature films in festivals partners in Europe and third countries, and the commercial exploitation of these films by distribution partners in Europe and third countries. The project aims to implement a selection of a dozen of recent films, 1st or 2nd feature films (fiction, animation, long-length documentaries), never screened or released outside their country of origin. Selected by the members of the
EoF network, the films will have the opportunity to get selected in the different festival partners and to be released via the distributors of the network.
Zadar has another project running, the Zadar Film Corner where emerging film projects and film professionals from Zadar county.
Feature Films Section Jury for 2014 is comprised of Dutch producer Ilse Hughan, Hungarian director Gyorgy Palfi, Croatian producer
Cedomir Kolar, Croatian director/scriptwriter/producer
Pavo Marinkovic, Polish scriptwriter and director Tomasz Wasilevski and Croatian director
Arsen Oremovic.
