Despite political turbulence the region is facing, the 51st Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, one of the deepest-rooted festivals in Europe and Asia, and one of the oldest and longest-running in Turkey celebrated 100 of Turkish Cinema by kicking off on a high not, lasting 9 whole days.

International Competition, specialised on feature films produced in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, included the drama
Court by Indian Chaitanya Tamhane, awarded at the last
Venice FF.
National Competition screened -among others- Venice

Sivas by
Kaan Mujdeci, and
Kutlug Ataman’s
The Lamb. The competition sections where completed by the
National Documentary Film Competition and the
National Short Film Competition.
This year, the festival launched again the
Antalya Film Forum, a co-production and project development market organized with the aim of reinforcing the international brand value of Antalya Golden Orange FF, support the production of local titles, to strengthen networking and solidarity between the actors of the industry, and, finally, to host prominent names of the world cinema via Master Classes and panel discussions.
Abbas Kiarostami
The festival’s focus country for 2014 was Spain, presenting tributes to Spanish directors along with a selection of successful Spanish films of recent times. Also, 2014 marked the campaign of expanding the festival across the year, through the net. Meetings with Cinema & TV students, and activities on social media are the first step towards this.
