There is a celebration of Albanian cinema going on these days in New York. Till November 27, the 3rd edition of New York Albanian Film Week is showing about 45 feature, short and documentary films, followed by Q&A, workshops, reception with artists and organizers.

The final selection, comes from works of Albanian filmmakers from around the world. AFW 2014, includes the Albanian Classics (Programi Bardh e Zi – B&W Program), screening restored films and Albanian classics. With films coming from Albania, Kosovo*, FYROM, UK, USA, Canada or anywhere else, AFW tries to present contemporary and diverse Albanian cinematic works.

Albanian Film Week awards the following prizes: Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Music, Best Camera, Best Screenplay, Production Award, Public Award, Best Director and the Best Editing Award.

Documentary Competition (Feature)

Daniele Vicari΄s documentary Human Cargo (2012) is having a special screening, along with Kujtim Cashku & Piro Milkani΄s drama Face to Face (1979).
