The 2015
Stockholm International Film Festival (SIFF) takes place on November 11 – 22, screening more than 190 films from 70 countries, seminars, Work In Progress program, meetings with the festival΄s guests, film quizzes, parties and much more.
Mediterranea by Jonas Carpignano (LUX Prize 2015 nominee) will be SIFF 2015 opening film. Todd Haynes΄ last film Carol, will close the festival.
The Lobster by Yorgos Lanthimos
Some of the guests will be awarded with special prizes for their contribution to the art of cinema.
Yorgos Lanthimos is one of them. The director will attend the festival with the Swedish premiere of
The Lobster to receive the
Stockholm Visionary Award 2015 and meet the audience during an exclusive Face2Face. Steven Frears will be granted the
Stockholm Lifetime Achievement Award, while actress Elen Burstyn is honored with the
Stockholm Achievement Award.
Four films from the Balkans compete in the Feature and Documentary Competition sections, with other six programed for the non-competitive section of SIFF 2015.
