The
Auteur Film Festival, one of the most important cultural events in Serbia, this year will be held the 21st time from 27 November to 5 December.
The cult film festival will present films which bring new trends in the auteur film circuit, with its Main Program presents the best works of art films from around the world and winners of prestigious international film festivals consisting of 22 works, including the winner in the last Venice Film Fest From Afar by Lorenzo Vigas from Venezuela, Cannes 2015 Grand Jury winner Son of Saul by Lazlo Nemes, and many more internationally awarded films.

Bande À Part @en (selected by filmmaker
Vladimir Perisic) will present 10 feature, documentaries and shorts, with themes varying from social and tribal conflicts to modern version of classic stories, like Miguel Gomez΄
Arabian Nights. A film worth mentioning in this section is Yervant Gianikian & Angela Ricci Lucchi΄s
Balkan Inventory (Italy, 2000) a surreal portrait of life in the Balkans in the ’20s, ’30s, and ’40s that uses found footage through slow-motion re-photography and selective image framing.

Side Program.
Backyards by Ivan Salatic
The Retrospectives (Debutrants - History Of The Auter Films) secton has included the first works by Claude Chabrol, Roman Polanski, Jiri Menzel, Terrence Malick, Luchino Visconti, Federico Fellini, as wel as Ivica Matic΄s Landscape With A Woman (Yugoslavia, 1989), while the Retrospective on filmmaker Krsto Skanata is screening feature documentaries (Terrorists, 1970 and 12 Months Of Winter, 1983) and a number of his shorts docs.
Retrospectives has also programed films by Boro Draskovic, along with 5 shorts by
Jan Cvitkovic.
On the festival΄s parallel program, the 2nd edition of the
Balkan Film Connection (BFC) 5-day educational and networking platform is hosting a number of Southeast European film students and young professionals developing their first feature films. BFC (2015 theme: The Art of Storytelling), was created by director
Stefan Arsenijevic and consists of interactive lectures, one-on-one working meetings, discussions and film projections.
