The 28th
Panorama of European Cinema ended with the film
Father by
Visar Morina (Germany/Kosovo*/FYROM/France, 2015) awarded the
Best Film prize (given by the audience, through a 5-member jury chosen by readers of Athinorama magazine) among the 12 titles of the
Competition Section.
Father, a film awarded in a number of international festivals, is Kosovo΄s official selection for the next Oscar race.

Panorama΄s artistic director, Ninos Mikelidis, referred to the unusual and adverse financial reality in which the festival was organised, jesting that despite the capital the country is faced with, there were no film control of any kind, and went on with reading the letter from the honored guest of this year΄s festival, filmmaker Bertrand Tavernier, who commented "cinema΄s and culture significance, especially during the latest developments (Paris΄ attacks)". Tavernire didn΄t attend due to health reasons.

Nikos Vergitsis,
Yannis Economides,
Nikos Panagiotopoulos,
Yorgos Tsemberopoulos, to mention few of them, as well as actors
Vangelis Mourikis and
Yorgos Pyrpasopoulos, and producer
Nikos Sekeris, among others.
The ceremony was followed by the avant-premiere screening of the film Brooklyn by John Crowley (Ireland/UK/Canada, 2015).
