The
14th edition of
Cyprus Film Days International Festival will take place from the
15th to the 24th April 2016, at the Rialto Theatre, in Limassol and Zena Palace Cinema, in Nicosia. Τhe Festival consists of two main programmes: the international competitive section known as
Glocal Images and the non-competitive section known as
Viewfinder, which comprises of films that have been screened and awarded at major festivals over the past year. Special tributes, parallel screenings, master classes, workshops and musical events, complete the programme of the official International Film Festival of Cyprus.

A three-member Artistic Committee is responsible for the selection of films within the programme, while a Jury made up of five internationally recognised professionals, awards films accordingly. The awards are as follows: Best Film, Special Jury Award and Best Director. The National Competition Section awards the Best Cypriot Film and the Best Cypriot Director. The audience also has the opportunity to vote for their favourite film, which receives the Audience Award. This year, the Balkan films that will be screened in the Official Competition “Glocal Images” and the non-competitive section “Viewfinder” are the following.

For the first time last year, Cyprus Film Days incorporated a special section with films for young audiences.
The Cyprus Film Days for Children and Youth, which is co-organised in collaboration with the
International Children’s Film Festival of Cyprus, includes screenings of international awarded films for young audiences as well as short films produced by children in Cyprus and Greece.
