The business of film is the focus of the second half of
Sarajevo Film Festival. From the
18th of August the international film industry hits the town for three days of meetings and extensive networking.
The CineLink co-production market, which will take place as part of the 22nd Sarajevo Film Festival (12-20 August), has announced back in April the first six projects selected from the first call for entries, intended chiefly, but not exclusively, for projects by first- and second-time filmmakers who are participating in the preparatory workshop in Sarajevo.
The second call for entries was open from 25 March until 26 April and targeted projects by established auteurs at an advanced stage of development and financing, which are currently looking for a good market access point to further their conversion and placement effort.
“The selection brings a variety of narratives and artistic approaches, while a healthy balance of established names and exciting new talent promises a lively market in August,” proclaims the official press release, and the line-up does indeed confirm the statement.
CineLink will include new projects by former Sarajevo winners
Andrea Štaka,
Nikola Ležaić and
Teona S Mitevska, as well as first feature films by Bulgaria΄s
Pavel Vesnakov, Georgia΄s Dea Kulumbegshvili, and Croatia΄s Jure Pavlović and Simon Bogojević Narath, whose shorts have triumphed and/or competed at Cannes, Clermont-Ferrand, Annecy and the EFAs.
Additional guest projects will be announced in coming weeks.
