The
9th edition of the
Cinema City International Film Festival opened its gates on
June 25 and will be held till
July 2 in the Creative Quarter – Chinatown and Limanski park, in Novi Sad. The new venues of the last year’s festival edition have found their way to win the hearts of the Cinema City audience and organizers, and so this year, the festival visitors will have an opportunity to discover some more new, secluded parts of Chinatown!
Cinema City Festival will present the audience an unconventional selection of movies, which are rarely included in the standard cinema repertoires. The two pillars of the Cinema City program are promotion of the first and follow-up film projects and young talents from the world of cinema, and an excellent music program featuring the most renowned names from the region – which is bringing this year the fantastic Jinx, who permformed at the festival opening on June 25.
A Good Wife by Mirjana Karanovic
The Cinema City Festival opened with the premiere of
One Week and a Day by the Israeli author Asaph Polonsky, which comes to Novi Sad after a successful screening at the
Cannes Film Festival.
For
eight days the audience will have the opportunity to see
60 films divided in
five separate sections, which will be screened at several festival venues: the Amstel Open Air Cinema in Limanski Park, SKCNS Fabrika Open Air Cinema in Chinatown, indoor areas SKCNS Fabrika and Quarter, the dearly beloved Firchie Think Tank Studio, and in the new Indoor Cinema. Once again this year, a portion of the film repertoire will also be presented in
SKCNS Brod Teatar, an attractive site, open and free of charge to all those who wish to visit and taste the atmosphere of this year’s festival.
