The
7th edition of
Divan Film Festival, the great Romanian celebration of Balkan films and cuisine is taking place from
20-21 August 2016 in
Craiova, moving from
22nd to 28th to
Cetate, gathering filmmakers, scholars, actors, producers and film enthusiasts from all corners of the Balkans.
Divan Film Festival, the third stop of The 5C Project cine-caravan is ready to welcome the five young critics,
Mariana Hristova,
Galina Maksimovic,
Ozge Ozduzen,
Andrei Sendrea and
Rhiannon Wain and offer them a rich and interesting programme of lectures, workshops, screenings and masterclasses, as well as their participation in the annual international academic symposium organized by Divan and chaired by the artistic director of the festival,
Marian Tutui, which this year runs under the theme
Urban Life in the Balkans.
Some of the acclaimed scholars participating in the 7th edition of Divan Film Festival are
Dana Duma,
Lydia Papadimitriou,
Alexandra Milovanovic,
Ana Grgic, Wang Yao and of course our five critics, all of them presenting papers and starting in depth conversations with their colleagues and the audience.
But
Divan Film Festival is not just about outstanding films. What do Balkans have in common among lots of things? Food of course! Participants of the festival will have the unique chance to discuss, debate and enjoy the screenings over delicacies from all around the Balkans, proving that Balkan cuisine is as tasteful and diverse as the peninsula’s films.
