Faithful to its established annual appointment, the
57th edition of
Thessaloniki International Film Festival will open its gates on Thursday,
November 3rd 2016. A very rich program of international and Greek feature and short films, masterclasses and parallel events, promises to offer once again a unique experience to the audience of the festival which will run until the
13th of November.
The line up will start off with the film Paterson by Jim Jarmusch and the film The Dancer by Stéphanie Di Giusto will be screened at the closing ceremony.
The five-member International Jury called to judge the films of the International Competition section and to award the Golden and Silver Alexanders plus a number of additional awards, is composed of: the Jury President Amir Naderi from Iran, Director and Screenwriter, Tunisian Director of photography Sofian El Fani, French screenwriter Frédérique Moreau, Peter Scarlet from USA, consultant, producer and film curator and Greek director and professor Eva Stefani.
The three-member FIPRESCI Jury called to judge films in the International Competition and the Greek Film Festival premieres is composed of the Jury President Aleksander Huser from Norway, Ahmet Gürata from Turkey and Ifigenia Kalantzi from Greece.
