Scholars, researchers and students have access to a wide range of reliable sources, while moviegoers and cinephiles, from all over the world, can explore a whole new cinema perspective.
Altcine offers accurate, balanced and forward-looking coverage of film and video productions, news and information, technical and legal issues, articles, reviews and critiques. Through its highly reliable, up-to-date information and innovative services, AltCine΄s goal is to boost competitiveness, skills and job opportunities of the Balkan audiovisual sector and encourage collaborations between companies.
Altcine mission is to preserve cultural diversity, educate new audiences, and open up new possibilities for artists and professionals in a multicultural environment.
Last but not least, AltCine is its people. At the moment, we are a bunch of Greeks –all acclaimed professionals from cinema, audiovisual and IT sectors– who, despite the harsh economic times, are committed to create a state-of-the-art, easy-to-use, without precedent, Internet environment that promotes Balkan cinema. We respect and encourage the individuality and richness of eastern European national cinema and culture and invite any individual –professional or cinephile– who shares the same dream, to join forces with us and support the cause...
…because It΄s not Hollywood here! It΄s the Balkans!
