Greek Film Archive organizes the 1st Week Of New Serbian Cinema, running from the 8th until the 14th of March. The festival will be held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Athens and the Cinema Centre in Serbia.
The organization focuses especially on Serbian cinema productions of the last decade and the audience will be given the opportunity to learn about the work of old and new Serbian directors. The director and chairman of the Cinema Centre of Serbia, Darko Bajic, will also attend the festival.
During the week of Serbian Cinema, 12 fiction films will be screened, 10 of which are going to be presented for the first time in Athens, like ‘Montevideo’, a Serbian blockbuster and
Tilva Roš, a movie that won several awards in many festivals.
Moreover, two documentary films will be presented:
Sinemakomunisto and O
Gringo, that will also participate in the
International Documentary Festival of Thessaloniki. Eminent Serbian directors such as Miloš Radivojević, Srdjan Karanovic, Goran Paskaljevic, Darko Bajic will communicate with the new generation of directors consisting of Srdjan Dragojević, Dragan Bjelogrlić, Oleg Novković, Srdan Golubović, Vladimir Perišić, Stefan Arsenijević, Mila Turajlic, Stevan Filipović, Nikola Ležaić and Darko Lungulov.
