The 10th edition of the International Film Festival Cyprus Film Days will take place between the 20th and 29th of April 2012, both in Limassol and in Nicosia. The Festival will host an international competition section titled Glocal Images in which 9 films from both around the globe and Cyprus will be screened. Among these films are Loverboy (photo) by Catalin Mitulescu (Romania) Fish n` Chips by Elias Demetriou (Cyprus-Greece) and Paradise by Panayiotis Fafoutis (Greece). The non-competitive section of the festival, called Viewfinder and hosts awarded films of contemporary international cinema. In this section will be screened films such as The Artist, by Michel Hazanavicius, Shame by Steve McQueen, Elena by Andrei Zvyagintsev, We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lynne Ramsay and Alps by Giorgos Lanthimos. In addition there are the Parallel Screenings – Events: Cinema Speaks which aims to present the transitional period from silent to talking cinema, Comic Art in Motion which attempts to present films inspired by comics, graphic novels and manga, The return of Neorealism: The cinema of Ramin Bahrani, and finally Sunday Awaking, a tribute to Michael Cacoyannis.
