With this motto ARTE holds a video contest with the subject of which is the region’s creativity. Parallel to the Hermann Vaske `s documentary Balkan Spirit, all the adult participants will have a chance to demonstrate what the Balkan Spirit means to them, through a one-minute-lengthen video. The documentary, that will premiere on ARTE at the end of 2012, tells a surprising story about the Balkans with shots in regions throughout all eleven countries that consist the Balkan Peninsula.

All participants` creations will be previewed on the website and evaluated by a jury composed of well-known artists, filmmakers and philosophers such as Marina Abramovic, Zelimir Baric, Jasmila Zbanic and Ada Condeescu. The jury will select twenty films that will be placed online for user voting. They will provide creative feedback and also present their own videos marking the beginning of the competition.

 

The award-winning video will be included in the documentary Balkan Spirit. 

The competition runs from 02/04/2012 until 31/05/201.
