Alexis Grivas will be representing Greece in Eurimages

The Greek Film Center (GFC) announced the new representative for Eurimages, the Council of Europe fund for film co-productions. The board members of GFC chose Alexis Grivas, a cinematographer with great experience.

Alexis Grivas has trailed a great journey through his carrier since 1967. He has worked as cinematographer in many international and Greek productions and also as a correspondent for Greek and foreign press. He is a representative for international film festivals for the Mexican Film Institute, while from 1998 until 2001 he was responsible for the foreign press and  international coordination of Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

The other nine representatives from the Balkan Penisnula are Artan Minarolli (Albania), Jovan Marjanovic (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Gergana Dakovska (Bulgaria), Sanja Ravlic (Croatia), Eugen Serbanescu (Romania), Miroljub Vuckovic (Serbia), Jelka Stergel (Slovenia), Mimi Gjorgoska-Illievska (Macedonia FYR) and Mehmet Demirhan (Turkey).

The majority of the Eurimages funds are intended for the support of co-productions in the field of cinema among the 36 member-countries of the institution. Among the co-productions that got funded is the recent Christian Mungiu`s featured film Beyond the Hills that got nominated for Cannes Film Festival 2012.
