The winners of Bulgarian Film Academy Awards 2012

Avé by Konstantin Bojanov was the big winner in the ceremony of the 3rd Bulgarian Film Academy Awards which took place on May, 28, 2012. It won the top prize of Best Film and also picked up Best Actor (for Ovanes Torosian) and Best First Film awards.

The Best Director award went to Ilian Djevelekov for his film Love.net. Djevelekov`s internet-themed drama, won also the Best Cinematographer (Emil Christov)Best Editing (Aleksandra Fuchanskaand Best Art Direction (Georgi Dimitrovawards.
 
Among the winners was also the documentaries To the Left of the London-Calcutta 
Highway and The Boy Who Was A King.

Nikolay Todorov`s The Nightmare, was the winner in the Best Animated film category. 

A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to documentary filmmaker Nevena Tosheva.

The awards were selected from a total of 16 feature films, 14 documentaries and 5 animated films released in Bulgaria in 2011

Best Documentary: To the Left of the London-Calcutta Highway, by Mihail Meltev

Best Documentary Director: Andrey Paounov (The Boy Who Was A King)

Best Documentary Cinematographer: Emil Penev (To the Left of the London-Calcutta Highway)

Best First Documentary:  Water Pasture, by Filip Trifonov

Best Animated Film: The Nightmare, by Nikolay Todorov

Best Animation Director: Nikolay Todorov (The Nightmare)

Best First Animated Film: Trip, by Radostina Neikova 

Best Book on Cinema: Genoveva Dimitrova (Merry-go-rounds of the Absurd. The Russian feature films 1991 - 2011)

Best Film Critic: Boryana Mateeva
