Athens International Film Festival wants your movie!

With this phrase, Athens International Film Festival, widly known as Opening Nights, encourages filmmakers from around the world to make their submissions until 13th of July.

Athens International Film Festival Opening Nights Con-X is composed by many sections including special screening, retrospectives, premiers and previews of distinguished and promising film productions of all genres. 
Also parallel to the main event a separate short-film competition for Greek film students takes place. The festival includes also two competition sections:
  • Competition Section feature films
  • Music and Films – In Competition
The films compete for the following Awards:
Golden Athena Best Film Award, Golden Athena Music and Film Award, City of Athens Best Director Award, Best Screenplay Award and Audience Award.

For the first time a new section comes to aid the efforts of Greek filmmakers. Greek Short-films competitive section will launch in this year`s edition. About submissions for the Greek short film section find more info here.

Since its debut in September 1995, Athens International Film Festival Opening Nights Con-X has previewed many featured films, documentaries and short-films awarded in world wide festivals. The festival aims in the promotion of indie film productions and introduces audiences to some of the best productions of the year, establishing a reference point for the begging of a new movie season.
