European Film Promotion (EFP) announces the 10 exceptional young European actors selected as the 2013 Shooting Stars to be showcased February 9 – 11 at the 63rd Berlinale. A jury of international industry professionals - including Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher, Bosnian director Jasmila Zbanic, German producer Bettina Brokemper, UK casting director Jina Jay and French film journalist Thierry Chèze-chose the talent for their outstanding work in feature films and their potential ability to expand their careers on the world’s acting stage.

Four of this year΄s Shooting Stars come from the Balkans. These are: Arta Dobroshi (Kossovo*), Ada Condeescu (Romania), Jure Henigman (Slovenia) and Nermina Lucac (Montenegro).

Arta Dobroshi became world famous for her astonishing performance in Lorna΄s Silence by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne

Ada Condeescu made her film acting debut in Florin Serban΄s award-winning If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle which premiered at the 2010 Berlinale. He also appeared in the films Feed Me With Your Words by Martin Turk and Duel by Nejc Gazdova.

With no previous acting experience, Montenegrin-born Nermina Lucac was cast after an open audition for the female lead in the Swedish film Eat Sleep Die, by Gabriela Pichler. Her performance has already earned her numerous awards including a Special Mention at the Zurich Film Festival, the Best Actress Award at the festivals in Seville and Amiens, and the Viasat Film Rising Star at the Stockholm International Film Festival.

The list of 2013 Shooting Stars also includes: Mikkel Boe Folsgaard (Denmark), Laura Birn (Finland), Christa Theret (France), Saskia Rosendahl (Germany), Luca Marinelli (Italy), and Carla Juri (Switzerland).

The programme culminates in ceremony in which they will be receiving the Shooting Stars award.
