Yorgos Lanthimos and his new project, The Lobster, were awarded the ARTE international Prize (€7.000) for the Best CineMart 2013 project,  at Rotterdam`s International Film Festival co-production market. 

The Lobster will be the fifth feature film of the Greek director,  and as the jury of the CineMart 2013 stated is “a very exciting and original project from one of the most talented emerging filmmakers of the last decade.” The movie is a production of Element Pictures (Ireland/United Kingdom/Greece).

The other two projects that won at the festival`s market, among the 32 that were selected,  are the films The Giant by Johannes Nyholm that won the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award (€30.000) and Zama by Lucrecia Martel that won the WorldView New Genres Fund Development Award (€5.000)

The 2012 ARTE international Prize went to Athina-Rachel Tsangari for her project Duncharon, a co-production of Haos Film and Faliro House Productions (Greece), Maharaja Films (France) and The Match Factory (Germany).
