South East European Film Festival launches its 8th edition this year from May 2-6 2013 in Los Angeles.

The South East European Film Festival, presents cinematic and cultural diversity of South East Europe to American audiences and creates cultural connections through films, artistic and social events. SEEFest organizes conferences and retrospectives, serves as the cultural hub and resource for scholars and filmmakers, and creates opportunities for cultural exchange between Southern California and South East Europe. SEEFest Business Conference is the industry section of the festival for independent filmmakers to connect globally.

Festival’s signature event is the annual five-day film festival in early May, a celebration of cinematic achievements from 15 countries of South East Europe, showing films that tell a larger story about South East Europe to American audiences.  In 2012, SEEFest was voted by staffers of Flavorwire as one of the 10 best-under-the-radar film festivals in America.

This year, the opening film of the festival on May 2 will be the Romanian comedy Of Snails and Men by director Tudor Giurgiu, who will be there to present the film. The same day will be also screened Tudor Giurgiu`s short film Superman, Spiderman or Batman.
