Balkan films at Brussels Film Festival 2013

Brussels Film Festival 2013 will take place from 19 to 26 of June 2013 in Flagey for the eleventh time.

Ektoras Lygizos` multiawarded first feature film Boy Eating the Bird`s Food will compete in the Official Competition section of the festival. The film tells the story of young, talented man in modern day Athens who has to fight with unemployment, loneliness and hunger. Insired by Knut Hamsun`s "Hunger", the film won the Best Picture Award of the Hellenic Film Academy. In the same section we meet Reha Erdem`s Jin, the story of a young girl who lives in the forest in order to escape from the war between the Turkish army and Kurdish guerilla.

Another Greek first feature film will participate in the festival, this time in the Panorama Section. The film is the box office hit What if... by Christophoros Papakaliatis that describes how a small decision could change the whole life of any person. Also in Panorama will be screened Marian Crisan`s second feature film the Rocker. The film is a father-son relationhip drama between an old rocker and his drug addicted son.
