Established in 1952, the
Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) is one of the oldest film festivals in the world and the most significant screen event in Australia. An iconic Melbourne event, the festival takes place annually in the heart of the city, presenting an acclaimed screening program alongside industry and celebratory events.
This year, from July 25 to August 11 the festival will screen more than 300 films from all around the globe. Among them, Australian audiences will have the opportunity to watch some of the best latest films from the Balkan Peninsula.

International Panorama section of the festival we meet this year`s
Golden Bear winner for Best Film at the Berlin Film Festival,

In the same section will be screened the films
Ginger and Rosa, a co-production from Canada, Croatia, Denmark and UK, directed by
Sally Potter, and the Turkish film
Jin by
Reha Erdem. Iraqi-Turkish film
Rhino Season by
Bahman Ghobadi and
The Capsule by
Athina Rachel Tsangari will also be screened in the
International Panorama.

Everybody In Our Family by Radu Jude
Slovenia has a presence in the festival with the short film Boles, directed by Spela Cadez, a stop motion animation based on a short story by Russian playwright Maxim Gorky, about an author suffering writer΄s block. Other short films are Rabitland from Serbia, directed by Ana Nedeljkovic and Nikola Majdak Jr, also a short animation film and the Syrian-Turkish Not Anymore: a Story of a Revolution by Matthew VanDyke.
