The sixth
CINEMA CITY International Film Festival started on Monday, August 26 and will last until September 1. During the festival over 130 films will be screened in eleven selections. This year the Cinema City festival will take place at ten city locations, including: Arena Cineplex, Arena 3D Open Air, Amstel Open Air, Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina, Museum of Vojvodina, Gallery of Matica Srpska, Academy of Arts Novi Sad.
The Hungarian film Final Cut: Ladies and Gentlemen, directed by György Pàlfi opened this year΄s CINEMA CITY International Film Festival.
The festival includes three competition categories.
National Class presents the best achievements of Serbian cinematography and many exclusive premieres. All the films from this selection are competing for Cinema City awards.
The third and very interesting competition selection of Cinema City Festival is Up to 10,000 Bucks and it encompasses films made with the budget of less than 10,000 dollars.
In the non competitive selection
Respect to..., Cinema City presents retrospectives of some of the most significant authors of our time. This year presented awards to the Israeli filmmaker
Eran Rikli and to the Serbian director
Želimir Žilnik, one of the most important authors of the Yugoslav black wave cinema.
And there΄s more. CINEMA CITY International Film Festival includes also the sections PLANET ROCK, where the audience will have the chance to see films inspired by music, BELDOCS @ CINEMA CITY, a selection of the most notable accomplishments screened at the International Documentary Film Festival Beldocs in Belgrade, CC-SHORTS, a selection of award-winning short films and finally many special screenings.
