Music is an integral part of Red City. Unlike most films, it doesn’t only serve as an undertone, but it actually propagates the plot and the mood of the film in a way complementary to its cinematography. Red City is all about music, color and poetry. The music used in the film had to be both poetic and colorful. We were privileged enough to be allowed to use Moby’s music from his album “wait for me”. We not only felt that this music was tailor made for our film, but the very way the album “wait for me” was made - as a home production distributed freely throughout the web - was akin to the production process of Red City. Moby’s music in combination with Stamatis Chatziefstathiou wonderful lyrics and compositions, inspired by and written for our film, gave to the musical structure of Red City a substance of its own.
