Plot
Three encounters of revolutionary Milos with death during the World War II.
In the first episode he tries to escape from the Germans. While waiting for a train among a crowd of refugees, a man with no identification papers is suspected of wrongdoing, and the crowd demands that three soldiers arrest and shoot him.
In a second vignette, Milos is chased by the Germans into a swamp. There he meets another man in hiding. Knowing the Germans are looking for only one fugitive, the man sacrifices himself.
In the final episode, the war is ending and Milos is now an officer in the Yugoslav army. He must pass an execution order on citizens accused of collaborating with the enemy. One is a woman to whom he is attracted.
