Plot
This is the oldest found Serbian fiction film. It was made in 1911 in Belgrade (Kingdom of Serbia). It is a filmed biography of Karadjordje, a famed leader of the rebellion against the Ottoman Empire in 1804. The film follows Karadjordje since childhood until his death in 1817.
The film was considered lost for decades but it was found and identified in 2003 in the Austrian Film Archives.  The restored film was screened in Belgrade in February 2004 at the 200th anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising.
