Sêristan comes down with a serious illness. Her last request is to be buried in the village where she was born. The thought of returning to the village frightens Mîrza, but out of respect for Şêristan, he agrees to her wish. Hêvî opposes the idea from the beginning. As he sees it, there’s no point in going back to be buried in the soil of ‘that place’. Mîrza is equally obstinate and insists on Hêvî coming. As a result, Mîrza, Şêristan and Hêvî set off by train. Şêristan conceals her identity as an Armenian as well as her first marriage. She dreams about her village and her old husband, Arto. Her greatest wish is to get back to her village and be buried there. Before reaching Diyarbakır station, Sêristan dies. Mîrza and Hêvî leave the train in Diyarbakır with her body and continue by bus to Batman. |
