When Trendafil attempts an escape from war-ravaged Macedonia, his mother in law dies from heat exhaustion. He calls upon Santino,his blood-brother, and the two must take the grandmother back in an adventure mixed with the danger and terror of civil war and the absurdity of transporting a dead woman across countries in a rolled up carpet.
