26 year old Selim passionately wants to move to the U.S. His aged uncle Nasuhi suddenly returns from Russia where he spent 50 years. Finally, a Russian girl, Olga, is in search of her father before moving to Australia to make home there. With a twist of fate, they all come together in the fabled olive grove of Nasuhi's youth in Alacati. The eccentric Nasuhi becomes the moral center of the story as the film reveals how the greedy building boom has caused roots and homeland to be forgotten.
