Vasile, directed by Bogdan Barbulescu, is a tragic-comedy that tells the story of two brothers and their struggle to make the best of their life.

Raised in an orphanage, they are forced to leave the facility once they are over the legal age. Ilie, the older brother, decides they should start robbing for a living and they begin with the place they knew best – Director's office at the orphanage. Vasile's opposition on his brother's plans fail once they're next targets prove to be successful: the Priest house, a warehouse where Vasile wworks as a night guard and a jewelry store. On the last job, Ilie gets caught.

Soon after, Vasile finds out he's going to be a father and decides to marry Lisabona – a beautiful prostitute, friend of Ilie. Vasile is being judged by Margelu' – the Gipsy Boss, for robbing the warehouse owned by the family. He gets forgiven as he charms the audience with his life story.

While Vasile is gone doing a job for Margelu’, a truck driver friend of the brothers is asking Lisabona for the old times full package service. He finds Lisabona, with her head smashed on the heater, as she slipped when struggling the truck driver. Vasile starts hitting Sandu with colossal force and determination, in a huge effort to pass his grief.

At the police station, the truck driver confesses the accidental murder, while Vasile starts writing his own confession, for all the thefts in the past. That's the last step bringing him back, closer to his brother.
