This Rumanian historical epic chronicles the efforts of Prince Michael to unify the Rumanian region during the Middle Ages. It shows his struggles and battles on a grand scale. It is believed that this was one of the largest, most complex and most expensive films to be made in Rumania in its time (1973).The film's director, Sergiu Nicolaescu, was enormously popular in the Eastern Bloc both as an actor and as a director. Mihai Viteazul, with its consistently fast-paced action, was very well-received. |
