Bulgarian director Lyudmil Todorov adapted seven of his own short stories to create the contemporary comedy seen in this anthology film, a Bulgarian-French-Swiss co-production. A night wanderer through the streets of Sofia is Emilia , a woman who serves as a link to bring together individually titled tales: In Five Million, two of Emilia's friends inherit a porn cinema; the grumpy party-pooper of Berdaierv eventually decides fun is better, and he dances his cares away; the third story details The End of a Romance between a Bulgarian man and his French lover; and Emilia has a few choice words for her drunken husband and his pal in Conditional Mood. The epilogue once again follows Emilia as she wanders the Sofia streets. |
