It was a happy surprise for George, a young filmmaker, to discover an old classic, “The Beloved”. Starring Hollywood legends such as Raquel Welch, Richard Johnson, as well as Jack Hawkins, Dame Flora Robson and Jack Wolf. “The Beloved” directed by Yiorgos Pan Cosmatos, was filmed in 1970 at Karmi Village in Cyprus. Karmi is under Turkish occupation since 1974. George was excited with the picturesque scenery of the movie. The brainstorming that followed inspired a documentary while led to a long search for the “Beloved” cast. It was through their experience that he could relive how the people of Karmi shared their village with the cast. Time flies. George meets Yiannis, born and raised in Karmi took part in the “Beloved” as an extra. He tells George that the locals who took part never actually saw the film. Yiannis leads to more questions and with his help, a search for more extras continues. They are to be invited to a celebrated showing of the film along with the hope that actors will make the journey. Through his experience in the film, he faces his own personal issues of the times as well as an ethical dilemma. Through this labyrinth of good and bad experiences that the documentary brought him, the young artist mature himself and take the long hard road of making his documentary a reality.
