Along the last years of Comunism in Bulgaria, a theater actor, Alexander Petrov, is prohibited to acting because of unknown reasons. After the fall of the regime, when reappears on stage, he realizes he was betrayed by his most admired person, his mentor and friend. The surprising revelation comes during that man's funeral, just when Petrov must decide the rites for him. Discouraged, Petrov leaves public life. To face that complicated situation he gets aid from his friend Markov, a former chief of the Secret Service and now a prominent businessman. We are in 1994/95, the fierce years of capitalism, plenty of a furious violence between several groups. Markov, deeply convinced of Petrov's talent, urges him to head a new political party able to help to save a country that has chosen a wrong path. |
