Vasiliki is fed up with her unemployed, unfaithful husband. At the bank, she withdraws the little money left in their account. At that moment, a robber suddenly bursts into the bank. His name is Nikos, a former clerk who claims that he has become a robber at the urging of his ancestors. In his attempt to get away, he takes Vasiliki with him as a hostage and later realises that she was his childhood sweetheart. He persuades her to stay with him. They settle in his farm and cultivate the land, but they also continue robbing banks as a couple. Meanwhile, Vasiliki’s husband, Giannis is having an affair with Mania, a working-class woman who now lives with him in his house. She persuades him to imitate the bank-robbing couple who have now become famous through the media. The bank that they choose for their first robbery is the same bank that Nikos and Vasiliki have also chosen to rob, and, as a result, they meet each other. The explanations that they give each other cause them to join forces and make a jolly “family of robbers.” |
