Living in a tenement town with her family, Bahar’s ideal is to study Painting in the Art Academy. However, due to her father’s political activism, they are forced to secretly leave town at midnight and take refuge in a villa that seems to be empty. The owners of the villa are abroad to seek a cure for their cancer patient child. The morning of the first night they spend at the villa, they wake up to the announcements of the military coup of 12 September 1980. Martial law is declared, and the family is desperately trapped in the villa. As Bahar spends more time in the villa, she begins to feel more attached to this fake world, but only to realise that she is mistaken. |
