An eclectic, poetic documentary, “ Ioannina of Contemplation & Legends” enlists distinguished scholars and research fellows for a journey  through the history of the city of Ioannina from the Byzantine era to the modern day. The film’s primary segments are: The Byzantine Era, The Age of Enlightenment and Benefaction, The Passaliki of Ioannina, one hundred years of slavery following the Greek War of Independence, one hundred years into the life of the contemporary city. The script and direction employ the cinematic scope of romantic realism with everything that entails, re-introducing the notion of hope from the victory over the challenges of a different time to the trials faced by our homeland today.
