Plot
Iva (17) and Maya (12) are sisters. They have a common father Andrey and different mothers – Irina and Neda. Iva lives with Irina, her second husband and their younger children – 7-year twins. Maya lives with Andrey and Neda. Managing with the emotional ups and downs of the teenage years, with their fantasies and fears, the two sisters are very attached to their father – he’s probably their only stable support in the fragile period between childhood and adulthood. In a complicated world with too many parents and unclear family boundaries, the two sisters survive, each by her own rules.
Iva and Maya attend the same school, where one of the most popular pastimes is to invent all kinds of stories about the hidden secrets of their teachers. With the help of Maya they discover the really unusual secret of their physics teacher. Mister Penev goes to watch opera performances dressed as a woman. While they digest this discovery, the life of the sisters is turned upside down by another shocking event. Their father Andrey is in a coma after a routine operation. Iva shuts herself down and avoids visiting the hospital. She searches for solace in her love with another student Kamen, who is an expert in parkour. Despite her young age, Maya shows a tough spirit. Along with her imaginary friend Santa Claus she visits Andrey every day, secretly trying out ways to wake him up. Her resolve earns her the special attention of the cynical doctor.
