A young woman decides not to have her sister, a psychopath, committed to a mental hospital. In doing so she defies the wishes of her family and social circle. The unavoidable conflict which ensues, the lack of understanding, the inability to communicate and the opposition she faces gradually lead her, like her sister, to isolation and silence.
