An accident which befalls the hero of the film provides the occasion for various people who have played some part in his life at one time or another to gather round his bedside. There they will remember, each one separately, the most crucial moments of their common life, not only in order to broach the hero's personality but chiefly to effect a personal summing up. It is a game of memories around human relations which are full of rivalry and petty pride seen from their humorous side.
