Greece in the year 2000 BC. A group of shepherds come down from the mountain in search of fresh pastures. They lose their way and come across some fishermen's wives whose husbands are at sea. A brief and brutal love is born between young Skymnos, a shepherd's son and Chloe, a girl of twelve. The wild games of the two adolescents awaken the desire of Lyka, a mute shepherd who abducts Chloe. Unable to live with the bitterness of betrayal, the young lad allows himself to be swept by the waves.
