ULTFILM was established in 2001 by Ilian Djevelekov, Matey Konstantinov and Georgi Dimitrov, three of Bulgaria’s leading producers today. For the past twelve years through Multfilm and Miramar film, their sister company, they have produced a number of features, documentaries and animated films for the big screen and TV. The main focus of Multfilm is development and production of feature projects with international potential by emerging and established Bulgarian directors.
In 2007, the company produced the first feature film of Javor Gardev, Zift, which screened at a number of international film festivals and went on to become a critical and commercial success. In 2011, the same production team produced Love.Net, directed by Ilian Djevelekov, which ranks among the top ten Bulgarian box office hits of all time. The company’s credits include the international co-production There Was Never a Better Brother (Russia/Bulgaria/Azerbaijan) directed by Murad Ibragimbekov, as well as Skobelev (Russia/Bulgaria) and Karbala (Poland/Bulgaria), slated for production in 2014, and both supported by the Bulgarian National Film Center.
Multfilm is committed to strong producer/directors relationship and carrying out each project from development through production, postproduction, sales and domestic distribution.
Mila Voinikova joined the company as a producer in 2009, after completing her graduate studies at New York University’s Tisch School of Arts and working in domestic distribution for the Weinstein Company.
Mila Voinikova oversees all Multfilm and Miramar film productions, including award winning animation Rew Day (official selection at Annecy 2012) and current 3D animation projects. She was a key figure in the production and marketing of the feature film LOVE.NET which became a major box office hit in Bulgaria.
